"I have been promised banners calling me Judas!"
As Darlo go head to head with the old enemy Hartlepool United, Paul Gough has had more than a fair share of baiting. "It's been quite a weekend, me dadwho for those who don't know is yes Goffy, biggest Pools fan in the universe.
He has been giving me a bit of stick he's going to keep his head down for this one, all my family are going. My mam's going she rarely ever goes to a game. I have been promised by my mates in Hartlepool that there will be banners calling me a Judas! But I'll have to wait and see about that one.
"When I first took the job my dad was giving me stick, but this was a chance of a lifetime not to be missed. I want Darlo to win so this causes banter. Dads been going on the web sites checking for how fans are feeling. I can just see it Wainey will get injured infront of the town end, I think I'll wear a balaclaver so no one notices me!"
"But back to the real stuff, Darlo have injury doubts surrounding Sammy Russell, he took a wack on his calf on Saturday, he's rated 50/50 at the moment. He will have a fitness test tomorrow. Bertrand Bossu I understand has been recalled as cover just in case he is not fit. Other injury news Steve Thomas received a dead calf after a Carlos Logan tackle in training on Friday. He will be fit to resume on Thursday, Brian Close is now back training, along with Clark Keltie. They should both be back in contention by September.
"Matty Appleby had his toe nail removed today. He had three injections then had the nail removed from the root, he then had a acid formula applied to prevent infection. Matty is now on antibiotics, he is on a six week recovery period but he should be available for the Friday night game against Notts County, it seldom takes that long a couple of weeks is usually enough time to recover."
