Darlington's on loan left-back Evan Horwood will miss Saturday's game at Hartlepool.

Horwood was brought into the club on loan earlier this month after regular left-back Craig James was handed a four game ban. Horwood now looks set to be out for seven weeks - meaning he is unlikely to appear again in a Darlington shirt.

Horwood went for a scan on Monday and the club's fears were confirmed when the youngster was diagnosed with a hairline crack of the fibula. The impact of the injury also caused swelling to the knee joint. The injury leaves Horwood on the sidelines for a month before he is in a position to start running again.

Horwood joined on 13th October on a one-month loan deal, so it wouldn't be surprising if his loan was cancelled and he began his recuperation with Sheffield United.
