Devastated Clark Keltie was today undergoing an operation.
Devastated Clark Keltie was today having a operation to to remove a piece of floating bone from his ankle, Club physio Paul Gough said it's a very common problem for footballers. Clark has had to go into the Friaridge Hostpital in Northallerton to have a piece of bone which has become detached from the back of his ankle removed."He's out for another six weeks, but I expect him to be fully recovered by then" said Gough. On Brian Close "he goes back with Procy on monday he will be running after the Notts County game with the lads."
Sammy Russell's injury nightmare seems to be almost over. "Sammy had a hema toma inside his calf, the blood clot was causing pressure on his fibula which had secondry bruising. He is able to participate in light training with Andy Collett, but as yet Sam cannot kick a ball. However I expect him to be fully fit and available for selection against Mansfield on Saturday" said Goughy.
Striker Akpo Sodge was carrying a knock before the Notts County game, Gough told me "He was injured during the collision with Rochdale 's keeper Mathew Gilkes late in the second half but he was okay for the County game." Little pocket battleship Anthony Peacock also was given the all clear after spraining his hand falling by falling badly on it, Matty Appleby has fully recovered from his minor operation to have a nail root taken out. So Keltie aside Darlington now have a near fully fit squad.
